Lockyer Uplands Private Property #4
Our fourth joint activity in 2023 with Toowoomba Bird Observers club, for the bird survey of private properties of members of Lockyer Uplands Catchments Inc., was planned for an early start in case of hot weather. As it turned out, we had overcast conditions all day with low cloud, mist and periods of light rain!

Our team of four observers enjoyed a relaxing time observing the birds of the Jondaryan area on a mild to warm, windy morning.
Over the King’s birthday long weekend five of us stayed at the Myall Park Botanic Gardens and did surveys there and in surrounding areas of importance.
All up it was a fantastic long weekend with some really great birding!

The on-site briefing for our joint BirdLife-TBO contribution to the LUCI bird survey project was interrupted when a passing vehicle flushed two or three Glossy Black-Cockatoos.
The first visit by our group to the bushland reserve ‘Ruthven St South’ on Toowoomba’s southern edge proved to be enjoyable, with relatively rich birdlife.
