Flyways is a brilliant Australian made documentary about migratory birds. We hosted a sold out screening in Toowoomba at the Strand Cinema on the 30th of May.

There was much anticipation over this film and it was great to see it sell out – there were over 70 people there on the night, thanks to extensive word of mouth and emailing from BSQDD and the Toowoomba Bird Observers Club.

We were honored to have producer Bec McElroy come up from Brisbane for the screening. After the film there was a Q and A with Bec, Scot McPhie and Roger Jaensch. Tarquin Moon from Birdlife Australia also gave a speech on recent conservation work in Queensland.

The film will be screening in a shorter version on the ABC soon, for those who couldn’t get a ticket on the night, and it’s great to see the film going from strength to strength as it screens around Australia.

Congratulations to all involved – it is a very important and well made film.
